The Realistic Success Recovery Society is a non-profit charitable society. The Board of Directors of The Realistic Success Recovery Society represent a broad cross-section of the public.
Our Board
Alex Charles – life long Surrey resident and President of the Board. Alex was a founding board member in 2007. He is a retired labour relations professional for UNIFOR Local 780. Alex has coached Surrey Minor Football teams.
Susan Atwal – a lawyer with 27 years’ experience in medical-legal matters, member of the Mental Health Review Board and active in her Newton community of Surrey. Susan joined the board in 2023.
Penny Priddy – joining the board in 2014, Penny has been keenly interested in the Society’s progress and our positive role in the public discourse on recovery houses in BC. Penny has the distinction of being the only woman in Canadian history to be elected to school board, city council, provincial legislature and the house of commons.
Nimi Chauhan – a community activist working with women fleeing violence and works for the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction. Nimi joined the board in 2016.
Sherry Mumford, Ph.D – Retired Director Fraser Health Mental Health and Substance Abuse. Professor in the Criminology & Criminal Justice department at the University of the Fraser Valley. Sherry joined the board in 2018.
Alexander (Sandy) Smith – a retired RCMP officer with a keen interest in safe and healthy communities. Sandy is an avid bicycle enthusiast joining the board in 2022.
Zack Myers – Lawyer – Myers Law Company. Zack has experience beyond his years and has dealt with challenging legal issues on serious matters including Murder, Kidnapping, Robbery, Drug Trafficking, and importation of narcotics. He urges clients in the criminal justice system to seek recovery. Zack joined the board in 2021.
