The Realistic Success Recovery Society is a non-profit charitable society. The Board of Directors of The Realistic Success Recovery Society represent a broad cross-section of the public.

Our Board

Alex Charles – life long Surrey resident and President of the Board. Alex was a founding board member in 2007.  He is a retired labour relations professional for UNIFOR Local 780. Alex has coached Surrey Minor Football teams.

Nimi Chauhan – a community activist working with women fleeing violence and works for the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction. Nimi joined the board in 2016.

Jessica Hutton – President & CEO Natawihowin Consulting. Delivering integrated servicemodels enhancing addiction treatment and mental health. Jessica joined the board in 2025.

Louella Vincent – Community Support Worker who works with mental health patients; member of Labour Council; organizer & speaker at the annual Red Dress Day event in Surrey. Louella joined the board in 2025.

In Memory of Former Board Member – Sherry Mumford

Dr. Sherry Mumford served on our board from 2019 until shortly before her death in 2025. She had a distinguished 40-year career in substance use and mental health, including her role as Director of Fraser Health’s Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) program until her retirement in 2017. In 2018, she was called back into service to assist Kinghaven Peardonville Treatment Centre in Abbotsford. Her legacy continues through the Sherry Mumford Centre, a women’s treatment facility at Peardonville House named in her honor.
