Our Leadership Team

Executive Director: Susan Sanderson  BA, former Director Occupational Health and Safety, BC Federation of Labour; Co-founder of the Realistic Success Recovery Society.  Susan co-founded the Society with her late husband, Gary T. Robinson in 2007.  She now leads the organization with passion, determination and ethical values grounded in the 12 steps of Nar-Anon. She is a fearless advocate of the recovery community. Her advocacy secured the first sector funding increase in a decade in 2019, and she mobilized partners for another significant increase in 2024 (16%!). She is a member of the BC Addiction Recovery Association Board. She is a trusted voice for ethical standards and outcomes-focused care.

Operations Coordinator: Jason Marshall. As an alumnus of the Realistic Success Recovery Society, Jason has experience as a Peer House Manager at Trilogy. He combines compassion with clear expectations for all new residents. Jason’s positivity, commitment to the 12-step community, and solution-oriented leadership style are valuable assets to the Society.

Counsellor: Tyrone McDougall- CPCA. Counselling Therapist and Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling. Tyrone is an alumni who combines his experience and knowledge of the 12 steps with his counselling education inspiring residents to change. He implements lived experience and the many stories of the spiritual awakening that has supported change in the lives of many addicts.  Like many others his recovery is a gift and is the gift he freely shares with those caught in the grips of addiction.

Counsellor: Alexander Dillon – Counselling Diploma. A young counsellor with lived experience and a passion for supporting vulnerable men on their path to positive life outcomes.

Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant: Shannan Smith. Shannan is detailed and meticulous, watching every penny the Society spends. She ensures the resident’s paperwork and admission documents are correct and submitted in a timely manner.  She brings a keen interest and curiosity to her work.
